On 23–24 March 2026, the EVELIXIA project participated in the BRIDGE General Assembly held in Brussels, bringing together key stakeholders from across Europe, including the European Commission, CINEA – European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency, and representatives from the four BRIDGE Working Groups: Data Management, Business Models, Consumer and Citizen Engagement, and Regulation.

Over the two-day event, discussions focused on some of the most relevant challenges and opportunities shaping the future of Europe’s energy systems. Key topics included grid flexibility, smart districts, digitalisation, artificial intelligence integration, cybersecurity, and new investment pathways to support clean energy technologies. The Assembly also provided an important opportunity for networking and exchange among projects and stakeholders working across the energy transition landscape.
A key takeaway from the discussions is that Europe is making strong progress towards energy sovereignty, supported by a dynamic and innovative ecosystem of projects and initiatives. At the same time, it is increasingly clear that stronger coordination and alignment are needed to fully leverage this potential and maximise collective impact.

From the Regulation and Consumer & Citizen Engagement Working Groups, it emerged that regulatory frameworks are gradually evolving to support peer-to-peer (P2P) trading and the development of energy communities. This represents an important step towards more flexible and inclusive energy markets, even though several structural and regulatory barriers still need to be addressed.

EVELIXIA was represented at the event by Magda Zafeiropoulou from UBITECH ENERGY and Christofer Klink from R2M Solution, who actively engaged in the discussions and contributed to the exchange of knowledge and perspectives throughout the sessions.

Overall, the BRIDGE General Assembly proved to be a valuable opportunity to share insights, build connections, and contribute to the ongoing dialogue driving Europe’s energy transition forward.
